If a tie occurs for 1st or 4th place in vertical jumps, a jump-off is required, as
only four competitors may advance to the TSSAA State Championship.

Ties for 1st or 4th place may be decided by a jump-off or if one athlete chooses to concede: If an athlete concedes 4th place, they forfeit their trip to the TSSAA State Championship. If an athlete concedes 1st place, they will be awarded 8 points (2nd place points). High Jump – Jump-Off Rules

Athletes will be awarded one attempt at the last height both cleared. If both athletes clear, the bar will be raised by 1 inch. If neither clears, the bar will be lowered by 1 inch. This process continues until the tie is broken by a cleared height. Pole Vault – Jump-Off Rules

Athletes will be awarded one attempt at the last height both cleared. If both athletes clear, the bar will be raised by 3 inches. If neither clears, the bar will be lowered by 3 inches. This process continues until the tie is broken by a cleared height.
